Data Management Platforms (DMPs) and Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) both bring data together from different first-party sources. Some first-party sources are company owned CRMs, point of sale (POS), and call centers. DMPs and CDPs remove the need for different silos for each department or channel. Both can be used to create reports. However, there are some major differences between DMPs and CDPs. Since there are hundreds of DMP and CDP vendors, we will be comparing the typical DMP with the typical CDP in this lesson.
